Water Unites Us Methodological Handbook

The Water Unites Us Methodological Handbook is the main educational outcome of the Erasmus+ KA210-SCH project Water Unites Us. Developed through close cooperation between partner organisations from Poland, Türkiye, Italy and Spain, it brings together innovative teaching approaches that combine environmental education, cultural heritage, STEAM, STEM, arts, sustainable development and digital technologies.

More than a collection of lesson plans, the handbook serves as a comprehensive presentation of the project’s achievements. It documents the educational approach developed by the partnership, the project’s objectives, methodology, learning outcomes and outputs, while bringing together all key project results in one publication. The Handbook has become the central repository of knowledge, educational resources and good practices of the project. It demonstrates how the project’s ideas, experiences and achievements were transformed into practical teaching materials that can continue to inspire educators long after the project has ended.

The publication contains 26 ready-to-use educational scenarios designed for students aged 12–15. Each activity was developed and tested during international learning mobilities in Türkiye, Poland, Italy and Spain, offering practical ideas that encourage active participation, creativity, critical thinking and teamwork. The scenarios help students explore the importance of water from multiple perspectives—as a natural resource, a source of life, a part of Europe’s cultural heritage and a key element of sustainable development.

In addition to the learning scenarios, the handbook presents the project’s educational assumptions, learning outcomes, methodological recommendations and examples of activities implemented by the international partnership. It therefore provides a complete picture of the project’s educational results and ensures that all developed resources remain accessible to teachers, schools and organisations interested in innovative environmental education.

Teachers will find clear learning outcomes, step-by-step instructions, practical tips and adaptable activities promoting inquiry-based, project-based and experiential learning. The publication supports the development of environmental awareness, digital competences, intercultural understanding, creativity and responsible citizenship.

We hope this handbook will inspire educators across Europe and beyond to create engaging learning experiences and demonstrate how water truly unites us.

Download the handbook and discover 26 inspiring classroom and outdoor activities that combine science, technology, engineering, arts and environmental education to help young people explore the value of water in a creative and engaging way.
