Report from the First International Meeting of Partner Schools in Mersin, Turkey

🌍💧 DAY 1

Here comes the first day of our international meeting in Mersin, Turkey, within the Erasmus+ project “Water Unites Us”!
Students and teachers from partner schools in Poland, Italy, Spain, and Turkey met during fun ice-breaking activities, took part in cultural workshops, and visited the Turkish partner school.
Poland was represented by students and teachers from Primary School No. 7 in Zamość.

📽️ We watched a short film about the city and the school, and then, working in international teams, participants presented the history of aqueducts on a digital eTwinning map. Students also analyzed a documentary film about ancient water supply techniques.

🎨 The day was full of artistic activities — from Kahoot challenges and painting to ceramic workshops at the local museum, where students created prototype aqueducts!

🏛️ To finish the day, everyone visited the Archaeological Museum and enjoyed a walking tour around the city center of Mersin.
It’s just the beginning of our shared water adventure! 💦

🌍 DAY 2

The second day of the International Meeting in Mersin was filled with creativity and teamwork! 💡

Students designed aqueducts using TinkerCad and SketchUp, then tested the water flow in their constructions. They presented the results using GeoGebra and Excel charts.

🖼️ Both the 3D-printed models and those made from clay paste were exhibited and published on the project website.
📓 There was also time for reflection, journaling, and short evaluation surveys.

👩‍🏫 Teachers worked on developing STEAM-based lesson plans, improving data analysis and graphic design skills.

🌐 The outcomes of today’s activities will soon appear on the eTwinning platform and the project website!
🌙 The day ended with a Cultural Night — a joyful evening of integration, dance, and discovering each other’s traditions.

🌞 DAY 3

The third day of the International Meeting in Mersin was devoted to exploring the history and culture of the region!

🚢 We visited the Nusrat Mine Ship Museum in Tarsus, learning about its historical significance.
⛲ We also discovered St. Paul’s Well and the city’s ancient buildings, focusing on their unique architecture and urban structure.

🍵 At the traditional Kırkkaşık Bedesteni Bazaar, participants had the chance to taste the local drink kaynar and feel the atmosphere of the old trade routes.

🏛️ Later, we went on an excursion to the Anavarza Aqueduct in Adana — an impressive monument of ancient water engineering.

🎭🎨 The day ended creatively, with drama and painting workshops where students expressed their impressions through art.

🌊 DAY 4

The fourth day of the “Water Unites Us” International Meeting was a true journey through history, nature, and creativity!

🎭🎨 The day began with drama and painting workshops inspired by the Lamas Aqueduct. Students imagined themselves as ancient engineers, exploring how water shaped human civilization.

📱 Then, participants became young reporters — documenting the events live with tablets and phones, sharing the beauty of the moment.

🎬 In the ancient Sebaste Amphitheatre, students filmed short creative movies titled “The Journey of Water”, edited with Picpac and Quik apps — telling the story of water’s path all the way to Kızkalesi (Corycus).

🌄 The day ended with a visit to the Asthma Cave and the awe-inspiring Caves of Heaven and Hell, which left everyone amazed and reflective.

🌐 The project keeps flowing forward — and indeed, water truly unites us!

💧 DAY 5

The fifth day of the “Water Unites Us” International Meeting in Mersin brought not only summaries but also emotions and heartfelt farewells…

📊 The day began with an evaluation session — participants analyzed what they had learned and achieved, filling in feedback forms and reflecting on a week full of creativity and discovery.

🤝 Although the official part of the project has ended, saying goodbye to new friends was emotional. There were smiles, hugs, and words of gratitude. We shared something truly special — and while we return to our countries, the memories will stay with us for a long time.

🌍 This project has shown that the language of water, friendship, and cooperation knows no borders.
💙 Water Unites Us — and now, memories do too.
